MySpace Profile Information and Reviews:
Myspace is a social networking site that was the spawn of a previous project called Friendster, created by eUniverse. According to Wikipedia, a team of eUniverse employees collaborated to develop a more interactive and publicly appealing version of the social networking site Friendster. In August 2003, that newer version, Myspace, was launched. The main members of the Myspace crew are as follows: Brad Greenspan (eUniverse's founder, chairman, and CEO) Chris DeWolfe (Greenspan's close friend and Myspace's starting CEO) Josh Berman Tom Anderson (Myspace's starting President and first registered user)
MySpace.com History and Company Future:
Also there were a team of programmers employed by eUniverse who were involved in this project. The team used eUniverse's capital and resources to take Myspace to the next level through employee contests, paying employees for most registered users in certain time frames. It was an ingenious launch that revolutionized social networking like never before. EUniverse, shortly after the Myspace launch changed it's name to Intermix Media, for reasons unknown. Since Myspace's inception there have been numerous changes to the Myspace family and it's infrastructure as well. There has also been controversy as to who the real brainchild really is. Tom Anderson was unanimously known as its founder and brainchild whereas paperwork and blog across the internet tout a different story. Tom Anderson, though he bares the same name, is simply a front man (or front-face) to help market the project. There are even rumors that his age on his profile was lowered simply to appeal to Myspace's potential younger user base.
MySpace Financial News and Myspace Users:
Whether or not any of the rumors are true about its origin, the fact still remains that media mogul Rupert Murdoch (owner of News Corporation and FOX Networks) felt Myspace valuable enough to purchase Intermix Media and the Myspace social networking site for $580 million in July of 2005. Myspace is now available in 15 languages. It is headquartered in Beverly Hills, California and employs approximately 1,000 people, according to Wikipedia. Though most of what publicity has stated about Myspace may seem questionable, the fact still remains that Myspace has connected millions of people to each other and also made some groundbreaking individuals incredibly wealthy. In its youth Myspace appealed to users of all ages, however nowadays it mostly appeals to younger users, aged 25 and lower. There are older users still on Myspace, though most of the more mature social network site users have migrated over to the newer social networking site, Facebook.
